Prerequisite: Private Pilot License
Minimum Flight Requirements for obtaining your Instrument Rating include the following:
50 Hours PIC Cross Country
40 Hours Simulated/Actual Instrument Flight Time
15 Hours Instrument Instruction from an Flight Instructor certified to teach the Instrument Rating.
These are just general guidelines. It is recommended that you talk to your flight instructor and refer to FAR 61.65 for more specifics.
